Aequo is modernizing the home service industry
By connecting homeowners and contractors virtually, Aequo is able to save time and money for all involved. From window cleaning to a full remodel, all your renovation needs can be met with Aequo. Our partnership with advanced scanning technologies allow contractors to provide accurate estimates without leaving their office. With a one-time payment, homeowners can purchase a 360º scan of their property or, for free, they are able to upload photos, videos and floor plans. From there they are connected anonymously with up to 4 local contractors for each trade needed to complete the job. Only when a contractor is awarded the job do they exchange contact information with the homeowners. In an ever busy world, Aequo is the future of home service.
About The Founders
How it started
Nate was the owner of the general contracting company. This awarded him with years of industry knowledge and the ability to adapt to new situations in an instant. With those traits, he was able to build an intuitive project building and management framework that anyone could use to save themselves, time, money, and frustration. His goal was to make his company uniquely modern. Not just using the newest methods in the industry, but pioneering them by exploring new ideas.
Bryan's role in the general contracting company, was to modernize the estimation and project management process. Under the restrictions of the pandemic, Nate and Bryan began using priceless new technology, 3D scans, 360° video and construction project management software. This allowed them to bid on work remotely and send scans to subcontractors for measurements without the possibility of exposure to any viruses. Not only that, it saved them driving time, measurement time, the time it takes to write down notes and ideas, and whatever else might come up. All of that means it saves them money; fuel cost, wages, office supplies, etc.
One winter at the height of a pandemic, they sat down, had a beer and vented about state of the construction and service industry, and the world as a whole. Then the conversation popped up, "What if there was a better way?" Nate had ideas that would allow homeowners to act as their own general contractor, giving them the guidance to build and schedule their own projects, and Bryan had some ideas for integrations and features that would make it even more helpful and unique.
A few weeks later they rented a cabin for a week in northern Minnesota, they brought their computers and six monitors. For 12 hours a day, they researched startups, homeowners, contractors, new technology, app development, and operating costs. At the end of it they had an early business plan. They calculated the risk, and Aequo was started. The next year was filled with bootstrapping and spending their free time fine tuning the system, having commercials filmed, and designing/building a trade-show booth. Aequo was officially launched to the public in February 2022.

It's pretty straight forward, Aequo or AEQUO works just fine though we usually keep the all caps version just for our logo. It's important for us to note that our website is aequo.us, not
aequo.com. The name is not an acronym, it is the Latin word meaning "to make level or equal with", and thats pretty much what we're all about.
